Hi

I am having trouble getting my new build to start. I am pretty sure I have connected everything up properly but at the moment all I am getting is the orange motherboard power light being on if I try to start the PC it doesn't switch on (the power button headers are connected!) stumped as to what it could be I noticed that on this motherboard there is a 4 pin and 8 pin slot for the power at the top I put both my 4 pin connectors in the 8 pin slot, is that correct?

Any help would be great.

See pic below (ignore cable management at the moment)

the only light that goes on is the power button on the motherboard. The 2 split CPU 4 pins are connected into the 8 pin at the top nothing in the 4 pin slot next to it. I have removed the 7990 and one stick of ram leaving only the CPU heatsink and removed all cable extensions and it still doesn't boot :/

Progress!!! removed the one last cable extension (vital one that comes with the phantom as the motherboard header cable is short and it seems to boot. Will see if I can get it to post with a monitor on.

SHE LIVES!!! (sort of) I am posting this from the new rig :) temps seem a little high but the room itself is 30+ degrees as I locked myself in so the cats couldn't get near.

CPU is idling at around 35 degrees is this high for a non overclocked Haswell?

Also the case fans nor the LED's are working so I will need to tinker about I wouldn't be surprised if the case was faulty as the faulty cable in question came with the Phantom.

All of my other hardware is in working condition as the PC is recognising everything so a HUGE sigh of relief.

Thanks for the help guys :)

Will do although the current cooler is a temp until I get a new Cooler as I am sending back my Antec Kuhler as it had already been previously used and was missing pieces as well as having a broken bracket and being covered in smeared thermal paste and dust.

Just glad that all the components seem to be showing just need to get the case fans and led's working

So managed to get everything working, I have been having some issues with the cables provided with the case having to replace quite a few of them with my own spares. Unfortunately I don't have a spare CPU 8 pin cable so will need to buy another as currently I am unhappy having the cable go via the front.

These are the temps I am getting non OC

Not entirely happy with the CPU temps (I have reseated the CPU Cooler as Sniper said) I am using Diamond 24 Carat thermal paste and I used a small blob it seems to have spread properly so I dunno. Does Haswell really run that hot???

My Sandy hovers around slightly higher but is also overclocked to 4.6 ghz (using an antec kuhler) the temps are a bit erratic at the moment but the system seems stable and all the other components are working (apart from the LED colour change on the case)

Also I don't live in the UK so the room temp is quite high.

Well problems all sorted bar the CPU temps being a bit high though idling at around 32 now with no overclock. Going to wait for the new cooler + CPU cable before worrying too much.

The case is bloody huge and makes my old phantom look tiny.

Here she is:
