Got myself one of the 670power editions from the £199 preorder and initial impressions are pretty good. But there is a problem, the card has two DVI outputs one Display port and one HDMI shown here.

My monitor and tv cable connections are both DVI but one via the included MSI vga to DVI converter.

Now with everything connected up it all works and the Nvidia control panel lists the two screens correctly with the monitor being the primary screen.

So all seems dandy but when the machine is booting it is using the TV as the default monitor with the post info and only after it has finished booting does my monitor screen come on.

Due to the lack of the full amount of pins inputs on the bottom DVI connector I cannot just swap them over to sort the problem, is there any way round this issue so that I can get the monitor to show the post screen during boot or is it going to involve buying new cables or adapters?

monitor only has DVI and VGA

TV has VGA and HDMI but the cable length needs to be 15M hence why I'm using an old 15 VGA lead.

Hopefully there is a simple fix that wont involve buying new cables.

Hmmm 15m HDMI cable is £14.48 maybe one of these might do the job?

I am assuming that if I use the TV on the Display port(via the currant DVI adapter as well) and plug the monitor into the top DVI socket it will show the post on the monitor, the same as it does on the tv from that socket at the moment.

Double adapter though, it will stick out the back a few extra inches. hmmm no easy answer.

Oh for ***** sake, digging through all my old boxes I find a HDMI to DVI adapter, I think to my self now if I use this on the back of the monitor and then use a HDMI cable to power the monitor all will be well. But no even with the monitor powered from the HDMI socket the post screen is still broadcast through the top DVI slot.

Just tried it without the TV DVI connection unplugged and it shows the post on the monitor via HDMI, but as soon as I plug the TV back in it defaults to show the post through the top DVI connector which of course is plugged into the TV.

Any other suggestions?
