I have a strange problem with the Asus P6X58D-E mobo, when i boot it up it shut's itself down and restarts itself within 5-10 seconds, and just keep going in a circle, the BIOS never comes up on the screen.

However if I switch it off for 5 minutes, then boot it up it goes into the BIOS and appears stable, that is until you power it down again, and off it goes again in it's rebooting cycle.

I have updated to the latest BIOS and it's still doing it. Their are no warning beeps, it simply just restarts itself.

When in the BIOS everything seems fine.

Have you plugged in both the 24 pin and 8 pin power connections to the power supply? On a similar note, are all the PCIe power connections from the PSU to the graphics card installed correctly?

A good test is to run each module of RAM individually and see if one of them gives you a good result.

Finally, have you installed the motherboard on stand-offs or directly onto the case?

So far I have tired, Plugged in 24 pin and 8 pin , GPU power connectors plugged in ok, PSU tested, all memory modules and memory slots checked and changes, CPU reseated. GPU tested in another machine, PSU tested in another machine.

Tried to change the memory settings in the BIOS to underclock it, and it started to smoke!
