Just purchased the aforementioned lens...
However I am not sure if it is performing as "normal" and would appreciate your feedback.
1. The barrel of the lens (to zoom in and out) is not very smooth to rotate, it feels more jerky compared to other lenses I have. It feels like something is clicking inside when I rotate it (perhaps clicking is the wrong word, more like some is causing friction when I rotate the barell).
2. When autofocussing sometimes the noise coming from the lense sounds unusual, i.e. some kind of "electrical" spark type noise, (again not sure if that's just the nature of the internal mechanism.
Can anyone with this lens confirm these phenomena?
