Hi,

I am hoping someone on might have some thoughts on an issue some of the users in our German office are having now they are running office 2010.

The issue is that when they create new folder under there mailbox it can take 24 hours to appear in outlook. They are all running in cached mode against the Exchange 2007 servers here in London.

If we take the users out of cached mode it is a bit more immedate but this has big perfomance impact on the whole of outlook for the users.

All our european offices have Office 2010 and it only seems to be german users that have this issue.

Any thoughts?

Not tried outlook 2010 enough but if it is the same as outlook 2003 which i guess it will be, you can set them up with an offline folder use and this might resolve the problem.

Offline folder use is not the same as cache exchange mode. But outlook 2010 might be different.

But where are they creating the new folder in their mailbox, if not from outlook ?

Exchange/outlook 2003 compared to 2007/2010 is very different.

Could you downgrade one of the clients to 2007? You need to figure out if it's a client or server-side issue.

Right I have been looking at the users machine today. The issue does not affect his mailbox it is just the shared mailboxes. All of the folders in the shared mailboxes have a double ended blue arrow in front of the folder icon. I am not sure what this icon means.

Have you tried using Outlook 2007, I think Outlook 2010 has loads of bugs.. I reverted back until SP1 is released..
