I received a parking ticket a while back whilst out on business - it was a house call on a road for permit holders & when I've visited other houses on that road they've given me a visitor's permit but on this occasion the person did not have any to give (and has subsequently washed her hads of the whoel affair despite promising to take care of it at the time). I left a note on the dashboard stating to call at the house for information but of course the jobsworth parking attendants just slapped a penalty notice on the windscreen

Anyway, I've received the letter in the post requesting payment BUT they've spelt my address wrong (not the address I was parked at but where I live). They've spelt it Venery Road rather than Vinery.

Any grounds for getting out of it?

Get a permit from someone, fill it out with the date and day. Then send a colour photocopy to the parking company claiming that the blind parking attendant didn't see it.

I was once given a ticket in a pay and display car park whilst I went off to buy a packet of polos to get the change for the machine from a fiver.

I explained the problem to someone leaving and they gave me their ticket which I then sent off as proof that the attendant had simply not seen it. I had the fine cancelled.
