Hi, New forum user here, I wasn't sure where to post asking for advice but I've recently upgraded my cpu mobo ram to (Ryzen 7 9800x3d, 2x16 6000mhz Corsair Vengeance and Asus B650E-F) Initially it wouldn't work with DOCP enabled, this was then fixed when I was recommended to update bios, I am now experiencing an issue where when I 'cold start' my PC after +/- 10 mins of it being off it will boot and within 1-3 seconds will restart and boot once more and works fine after then.
From what I have read online this isn't a cause for concern though I am curious about how I could fix this issue.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

What memory is it ? Expo is what you should be using on AM5.

Download and run memtest and test each stick individually.

Other sets of this ram have been tested by my mobo and are compatible though my particular set hasn't been tested. Should I just send it back and buy expo ram ?

Figured it out, turned MCR on and to no avail, pc still double booted

Im curious as to which bios you flashed, if its the latest one 3027 then either back flash to the previous bios or set ram manually, DOCP is broken on 3027 users are reporting on another forum and safedisk has apologised for it and is in the process of fixing things, in the meantime its recommended to go back to the previous bios or set it to Manal and enter your timings and speed yourself..

I updated to 3067 which was the latest stable release at the time, since there has been a new bios update released 3208 I may update to that, I think its a ram compatibility issue as my ram set isn't on the qvl list, I have ordered new ram which is on the list and I will test when it arrives.

Expo I hope.

Keep us informed.

Yep, won't be making that mistake again; I had overlooked it because the kit worked fine in my brothers computer.

Sorry 3208 is the one with the DOCP issue, if you look here you can see there is a newer bios on the way, currently in testing, all being well XMP kits should work fine too, loads of people are using XMP kits on AM5 and just enabling DOCP, id recommend a G.Skill kit personally, everyone seem to support them and ive never had an issue with them on any board, currently ive got 3 different G.Skill kits, they all work fine on my ASUS X670E Gene, my Mrs old ASUS B650-i and her new ASUS B850-i

I see, I updated to that one today actually before your message, haven't seen any improvement nor this problem getting worse. I ordered a G.Skill set yesterday its set to arrive on Monday, fingers crossed that ram resolves this issue.

Should I download the previous bios version before installing the new ram or not mess with it and stay on 3208 ?

Id just stay on the bios youre on now and flash the new one when its finalized, probably within a few days id imagine, they are normally quite quick with them, especially when its users reporting the issues, they want to fix them quickly.

I dont have a problem personally flashing beta's, if theres an issue or somethings not working right I just back flash, if I can find the link i'll add it to this post, Safedisk (the bios writer) said don't be afraid to flash beta's, most beta's just go straight to final after a little further testing so end up being the same as the beta.

No issues here on 2902 which is the latest beta for my ASUS X670E Gene running a 7950X3D and 48gb kit of G.Skill (3221 for your board), ive tested DCOP 1 and 2 without any issues, but I run manual with heavily overclocked RAM.

New ram kit installed, as far as I'm aware all is working. Moral of the story, pay close attention to what ram you're buying and don't ignore qvl lists.
I did this with my X870 board, got ram that was on their QVL list and had no issues at all with my 9800X3D.

Did this purely because of the booting issues I have seen people have and wanted to reduce this as much as possible.
