Hi, getting a bit frustrated as to why this wont even post. Specs are as follows:

1950X Threadripper
HyperX Predator 16GB (4x4GB) 3200Mhz DDR4 CL16
ASUS PRIME X399-A

I cannot get it to post with this RAM at all. I have another DDR4 stick i pulled from an OEM system (some 2400mhz Dell stuff) and it posts fine and i can get into the bios etc. Tried adjusting a few settings such as clock speeds down to 1866, 2400 etc and bumping power to 1.4v. Also tried manually putting in the CAS timings but haven't had any success when trying the hyperx. Then again i don't really understand half the settings in the timings either as theres about 40 different ones... Bios on the mobo was updated to the latest one 601 for this board and have tried individual sticks in the slot the 2400 oem stuff was in

Am i missing something obvious here?

Does the memory work in another machine? At bone stock JEDEC settings at 2400 almost any ddr4 kit should be able to boot. You could try one stick on it's own.

Just tried and it doesn't seem to (other machine is a dell intel desktop), put each of the 4 sticks in and power led was flashing and it didn't post. put back the original oem memory and its fine. I've already tried 1 stick at a time in the threadrippper system and none worked. Is it possible to get 4 sticks of faulty ram?!

It's technically possible but statistically, very unlikely. I'd imagine that based on the fact that you can't get it to work at all in two different machines suggests something is amiss with it.

I'm guessing it's this kit HX432C16PB3K4/16. The 4x8GB stick version (HX432C16PB3K4/32) is listed in the asus QVL so I doubt it should pose any problem to run.

yeah, thats the main issue i have it should be supported given the QVL, which is why i got it and even if theres an issue surely it should post at 2400mhz...
