I have a Panasonic FZ-M1 stuck on Windows 11 which I can't even get into because I long forgot the pin and I don't want Windows 11 on it anyway I want to install Debian 13 to it but I can not get it to boot from USB. I can access the BIOS just fine but there are no options to set the USB too BOOT.

The BIOS version is American Megatrends 2.15.1234 V2.00L23
I've enabled the BOOT pop up menu in the BIOS but that hasn't done anything.

The only other options are:

UEFI BOOT
CSM Support
UEFI Priorities

I bought this on ebay some years back and it came with a foreign version of Windows 11 installed which I had previously reset to English. I want to get all the rubbish off it, wipe the SSD and have Debian 13 running on it.

Edit: I managed to get into it and I've written the Windows 11 pin down this time so I remember it. I still need to get Debian on it tho.

Any help would be appreciated.

Having a quick look online there is some steps below

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the USB Drive:
    • Ensure your USB is formatted correctly (FAT32 is typically recommended for UEFI booting).
    • Connect the USB drive directly to the tablet's USB port, not a cradle.
  2. Access the BIOS/Boot Menu:
    • Method A (Keyboard): Connect a wired USB keyboard and press F2 repeatedly as soon as you turn on the device to enter the BIOS.
    • Method B (Buttons): Try pressing and holding the Power + Volume Up buttons together until the Panasonic logo appears.
  3. Configure BIOS Settings (If needed):
    • Once in the BIOS/UEFI setup, navigate to the Boot or Exit tab.
    • Look for "Boot Override" or ensure your USB drive is selected as the primary boot device.
    • Note: You may need to enable "Legacy USB Support" or disable "Secure Boot" if you are trying to boot a non-Windows environment.
  4. Boot from USB:
    • Select your USB drive from the list and press Enter to boot.
Failing that is the USB stick formatted correctly?

Often boot from USB menu can be on one of the other F keys like F7 or F8 but some times you are not offered USB boot because you haven't put a functional bootable device in.

If you have just created one test in another machine to confirm it is bootable.

Its the same bootable USB that I've used to install Debian on other computers... I will get another USB hub and see if that fixes the issue because the tablet only has one USB port and I need a keyboard plugged in plus the USB drive in order to install it.

I've installed Linux before on another Panasonic FZ-M1 but that had a different BIOS version as it was a newer model to the one I'm struggling with.
