Issue with windows 10 and audio interface

Hey guys

I have just finished a new build and am trying to sort my audio.

I use a music studio Yamaha MR816x over firewire for my sound.

Drivers installed, its recognised by windows 10, its set as the default sound output and im getting the green bars of sound next to the device.

Issue is, im getting no actual sound...

Ive tried several mediums for testing, youtube, spotify, logic, games. Nothing.

They all show sound being played on the device, yet theres no actual sound.

Obviously volume is up on the device.

Not sure where to go from here?

yes all good otherwise it wouldnt show up.

my thought is that the mobo is all pciE i think, and the firewire card is pci.

ordered a pciE card and hoping thatll fix it

If you were using a card for firewire, then that is the most likely source of the problem. Possibly not playing nice with the new motherboard for whatever reason.

yeah id say the same thats why im trying the new card, hopefully fixed tomorrow!

Hey guys, the pciE card didnt work at all.

Im thinking about uising a pci thunderbolt card, then a thunderbolt to firewire adapter, then connect it that way?

Seem a way that would work?

I think you should test the MR816x on another PC first.

works fine on other PC, its this mobo, its been perfect for years, works on a macbook on thunderbolt-firewire conversion
