Issue with Xbox One controller

Hopefully I've posted in the correct forum.

Anyway I'm running into an annoying issue that I hope someone can help me with.

I have an Xbox One controller that I use via bluetooth, I recently purchased a play and charge kit, which is connected to one of my motherboard usb ports.

Now what happens is if I connect the controller to the usb cable of the play and charge kit, the only way I can use the controller wirelessly again is by re-syncing it. Once I disconnect the cable the controller button flashes endlessly and will not re-connect again.

That doesn't seem normal to me, and it's bloody annoying. I'd have expected it to work similarly to the controllers on Xbox consoles i.e you charge them but when you remove the cable they connect to the console wirelessly again.

Does anyone know what is happening? Or what I can do?
