Issues in XP

Hey guys,

Turned on my PC yesterday and everything booted up ok, logged in, showed my wallpaper, but nothing else, after a minute it came up with icons, and right clicking the mouse came up with menu, that kind of thing, but not my start menu.

It does this everytime, also i cant download much anymore, i cant connect to steam or MSN but i can browse the net.

I cant go on WMP because it says in a warning box "Can't perform opperation, low memory"

These are my specs:

AMD 64 3000+ (754)
Epox 8NPAJ mobo
1gb Corsair XMS 3200 (2x512)
80gb S-ATA deskstar
nVidia 7900GT OC
XFI platinum
550w PSU

Could be a memory issue:

Try re-seating it.
Check its compatible with the motherboard
If your board supports dual channel - Use it

Check the windows event log and if necessary check eventid's on www.eventid.net

Do you have an updated Antivirus program installed and a Firewall running?
