So I bought and cheap and cheerful CNPS90F Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler last week with the plan to switch my old gaming PC to my new workstation.

I've had Zalmans in the past and thought I'd go for it as it was only £10.

However.... I don't seem to be able to mount the cooler as the clips and mounting is pretty crap. I can get the pins pushed in fairly tight but it doesn't fill me with confidence as they are on the edge of being unstable.

Here are some images of front and back of motherboard and the Zalman mounting pins.

Am I missing something here?

Tempted to return it and go for something else.

Just need cheap, cheerful and quite.

I hate those damn things. I wish manufacturers would stop skimping and do a proper bolt down mount. All you can do really is push the clear bits through the board and then force the black pins through them while holding the clear one you are working on down. Do one then do the diagonally opposite one and work your way around the bracket. You could mod it and stick bolts through it instead.
