I'm looking to replace my old rather cheap and nasty coolermaster 500w with a new Antec High Current Gamer 620w Modular one.

However I'm having issues unplugging the 4+4 cpu connector on the psu from the motherboard. It's in rather firmly and doesn't seem to want to budge.

Any ideas on how to get it out would be welcome

Hold the cables in your palm, and the connector with your thumb and finger. Pull/gently wiggle them at the same time.

Assuming the board is still fitted in the case, push down on the board next to the connector. You don't want to break anything

It's probably the little tag that locks the connector into the socket. I have had to use a screwdriver to lever that little tab out before.

i've cut my fingers many times getting these stubborn things out lol, a lot of wiggling and pulling always works for me

I would imagine its that little locking tab that's causing the issues as said slipping a small screw driver under it should help then gently wiggle the connecting block from side too side while pulling upwards this should release the cable

They can be a pain getting out, especially with a large heatsinks in the way, few option above to remove the affending cable.

Press clip while pushing down.
Hold cable in palm.
Rock ever so gently.
Can you visibily see the clip raise past the barb?
