issues starting conversations (on this forum),

trying to buy something off MM and neither of us have the option to start a conversation with each other,

I notice i don't have the option to start a conversation with 20(ish)% percent of random people i click on...

Am i missing something obvious? other other people can start conversations with me (so i doubt the issue is with my account)

I've never done it, and don't know how to.

ok worked it out there is an option to allow people to start conversations with you on your account preferences, never thought to look since ive had messages from people loads of times
