Issues turning on PC

So when I press the power button most times my of doesn't turn on. So what I have to do is hold in the power button and flick the power button on the psu on and off until it turns on. Sometimes I need to go in to bios and re set all my clock settings etc. SomestI mean rarely it will turn on normally. I've opened the case and checked all the cables are connected and can't see an issue... any idea?

The power button on the case might be faulty - try shorting the two pins with a screwdriver or so and see if it turns on every time with that

Sorry stupid question but what do you mean two pins? It turns off fine which is funny!

There will be some cables running from the power switch to the mother board, one will be labelled 'power sw' unplug that and then use a screw drive to connect the 2 pins instead of the cable.
