Ok for the last couple of months Ive been getting black screens that says "No Signal", then after a few seconds it says "Out of Range". This issue always happens either at the game loading screens, during game normally when changing maps or minimizing and maximizing.

This to me sounds like a graphics issue, but the one odd thing about it is i didn't ever have this issue before i changed out my mb and cpu, i had already questioned the bfg tech support about the possibility of this issue being caused by a fault mb but they say its not, i am not buying that so i need second opinion.

Anyone see this issue before ?

my monitor says "out of signal" for a couple of secs before going into windows, then comes back on, this is definetly related to my gfx cards coz it never happens until I went SLI and installed new gfx drivers

but its not an issue as it works fine

Only difference being when it happens to me the pc locks up and i have to reboot, its almost like something gets stuck or goes wrong when loading.

I am using the same drivers i did on my old rig, only 2 things i haven't tried as of yet is a reformatting and trying a different graphics card.

Out or Range on the monitor normally means that the signal sent to the screen can be processed by it, so for example if the refresh rate was set to 100hz on an LCD then it might possibly display that message. Check your game configs to see if there's an option and try and keep the refresh rate for an LCD to 60hz.

Saw this posted on another forum, doesn't work with Vista so if you're using XP it might be worth a try.

Well, i don't know if this anything to go by but every now and again when i get this issue i am greeted by this friendly BSOD that says something about the nv4_disp.dll either programing the device incorrectly or device is damaged. This doesn't happen every time but it does seem to be quiet persistent as i Ive tried basically every forceware driver under the sun and all show similar results.

Ill give this force refresh rate thing a go and report back.

PS does anyone know of any programs other then ntune that could be used to test the stability of a nvidia graphics card?

Tried this, it seemed like viable fix but not change sadly.
