Hi

I have a machine which was recently rebuilt and it came with an old version for Firefox. I upgraded it to Firefox 7 but noticed that then typing responses in forum post text boxes, after a while the cursor keys stop working or more accurately they need to be pressed for a second before they respond and then they move multiple spaces as you would expect after being held down. The other thing is that the return key jumps 3 lines down. The other keys work fine and it only happens after maybe 30 minutes of opening Firefox, before that it is fine.

I upgraded to Firefox 8 but the problem is still persisting.

When I close FF it generally reports a GPF. I am running on XP 32bit with 3.xxGB ram and an i5 650 (work machine).

Any suggestions.

graphics card and drivers? Try disabling hardware acceleration...it in tools>options>advanced>enable hardware acceleration when available just untick it and see

Disabling the acceleration didn't help but I have noticed it seems to cut in when the Adobe Acrobat plugin starts.

I will give a go at updating that if possible.

Have you tried creating a new user profile for Firefox, sometimes the profile will corrupt on upgrade, it's rare but it can happen.

I had to give up on Firefox last week, It would open my email but not display the contents, moved over to chrome now, still finding my way around
