Issues with garage (Tonbridge, Kent) after fitting new DMF and clutch kit

Hi all,

Few opinions please about the below:

2005 Vauxhall Astra 1.9 went in for a new DMF to be fitted along with a 3 piece clutch.

After the work had been done, other half noticed the reverse lights were no longer working - went back to the garage and was sorted and told there was a lose connection (thinking reverse switch was not plugged back in).

Roll on to last week - car was juddering when changing gears and was grinding and loss all power in reverse. Again back to the garage where she was told that a gearbox mount was perished and the technician noted this when doing the work - yet we were not informed and no note on the invoice.

After being informed this mount was extremely perished and in a poor state - i decided to decline their offer of putting the car up on the ramp to check (and billing us) and inspect it myself.

To my amazement i found that the bolt that held the mount to the alloy arm on the box had dropped out (couldn't of been done up) and the mount was not worn at all!
Also will checking around found the box has damaged the flexi on the exhaust from the excess movement

Whats the best route to go down with this? I have spoke to the garage about it (located in Tonbridge, Kent) and tbh they have washed there hands of this.

Sorry for the long post and appreciate any comments / ideas.

Many Thanks

Jon

I doubt I would have spent over a grand to repair a 2005 Astra, is it a good example?

Assuming it's used properly then a van is a bit of a different prospect to your average 2005 astra in that the user knowing (thinking) that specific example won't let them.down after the repair is likely worth more than the risk on another low value example
