Issues with long HDMI cable

Hi all, hoping someone can help me out with this as it's driving me nuts!

At work I installed a new CCTV system into our MD's office. He decided he wanted to move it so the CCTV monitor would sit next to his normal computer monitor. To do this I had 2 options; Reroute 8 BNC CCTV cables over to the desk, along with CCTV unit and monitor, or move just the monitor across and install a long HDMI cable from the CCTV unit to the monitor.

I firstly ordered up a 15 meter HDMI cable and tried that out, but it was giving a very bad picture with what looked like interference due to a bad signal. I did my research and was advised to try a 10 meter HDMI instead. I installed the 10 meter cable yesterday and hooked it up and it looks great. However after about an hour the monitor starts flickering and loses signal.

Any thoughts? My only concern is it may be the HDMI to HDMI extender I put in as the 10 meter cable was about a meter short so I had to use another 1 meter HDMI to reach the monitor.

Try removing the extender and test with the monitor at 10M.

Alternatively, is there any option to try and get the CCTV web based so he can click on at any point? Easier to run a monitor from his PC with a web browser page open than messing with these long cables.

It's actually a laptop he uses connected to another monitor so I couldn't hook up another monitor to it. I'd actually thought about using one of the old Pentium 4 XP machines I have lying about and putting it under his desk and connecting it to view just the web software, but I'd need to put in another network cable for it

It's a Swann CCTV setup too btw if that helps. I'll unplug that adaptor, try it like that and report back. The MD has emailed me twice already since lunch and I just hope he doesn't phone me next!

Looks like anything over 10m and it goes nuts.

Think I'm going to have to put a base unit under his desk and run a feed from that to his spare monitor.
