Issues with M.2

Is that anyway I can still take full advantage of the M.2 speed by putting it in an external enclosure and then plugging the enclosure into a USB 3.1 slot?
I mistakenly bought the M.2 not realising it would nullify one of my hard drives on a sata port.

Most ones I see are 10gbs some 20gbs
10gbs works out at around 1GBs roughly

Hopefully then I could still match a 6gbs or have enough speed to render the M2 not being a waste of time? Currently it is unusable on my motherboard.

A PCIe -> NVMe adapter could also be another option depending on your motherboard

Z3090 Aorus Master.
Currently using 1 ssd and two satas. Tried to install a WD Blue SA510 Sata SSD M.2 2280 in the M2P slot. Nothing registers in either Windows 10 Pro or the Bios. Tried the M2 slot and was unable to load Windows. The Pc just kept booting into the bios after flashing an image across the black screen of the M2. Bios settings for the M2 and its configuration are greyed out. After all of this I couldn't be bothered to try the M2A slot on the board and thought running the M2 through an enclosure via a USB 3.1 Gen 3.1 Gen 2 might be a better option.

You're right, whilst Page 33 chapter 13 says theM.2 connectors support M.2 SATA SSDs or M.2 PCIe SSDs it says in tiny grey writing on page 34 that the M2P connector supports only PCIe SSDs (which Ididn't see). That being said, I'd already got a SSd on one of the ports M2m disabled. I didn't try M2A because I'd have the same issue. I stupidly thought using a M.2 wouldn't have created these issues. Running the M2 through an enclosure via a USB, using 3.1 Gen 2 would be the better option- in these circumstances.
