issues with mixing ram?

hey guys, so i currently run 4gb corsair dominator ram and am looking at upgrading to 8gb. would i encounter any problems by running 4gb dominators, and 4gb of g skill ripjaws x (blue) ? and would there be an issue running this and 4gb of kingston hyperx?
what it is, is my dad and me have similar spec systems, 2500k sandy bridge builds, i have dominators, he has hyperx, and im looking at buying an 8gb set (4x2gb) of gskill ripjaws, and sharing the memory, me getting 4gb, him getting 4gb...

if it was me i would use all the 8Gb g skill in one system then give your dad your dominator. you might have trouble with overclocking with a mixed set but mainly with achieving higher overclocks. you should be alright mixing the ram on the whole especially if its the same speeds.

I don't think there would be any problems as long as both of the sets of ram are the same speed and timings.

thanks, ill just keep all 8gb of ripjaws and give my dad the dominators based on your advice hyde. doesnt make too much difference, i like the blue of the ripjaws anyways, looks good
