Hi

I have had my BENQ XL2420T monitor for almost 2 years now and just recently it has began switching itself off/losing signal when the screen goes too bright. I have ruled out GPU and cables as the cause as I don't lose signal on my second monitor and have tried switching HDMI cables.

If anybody could give me advice on whether this is a common problem and how to solve this or does it mean buying an upgrade?

Thanks for any help, would be much appreciated :)

have you checked your warranty of contacted BenQ support for advice? i'd maybe try another power cable and a different video conneciton other than HDMI and see if it helps

when you say it does too bright, what do you mean? are you turning brightness control up and thats causing it/

I have sent a message to BenQ support as I'm not sure whether it would still be under warranty and don't have the original documents anymore, but I haven't received a reply as of yet.
I'll have to try the power cable and other video connection when I'm home tonight, thanks for the advice.
And no, I mean it will happen for example when the screen has lots of white on it like Web pages and word documents, luckily this forum is a nice darkish blue :)

I actually haven't, I will do tonight and let you know.
It just frustrates me when things stop working as they are intended, but up to now it has been a brilliant monitor.
