I thought I would post this in general hardware because I have no idea what is causing the problem.
I have a P5K premium, q6600 G0, HIS 3870x2 and 2gb Ballistix Tracer;
Using an Ultra-120 extreme with a Scythe S-Flex 1600, and running vista64 but I doubt that's relevant.
After building the rig on Tuesday, I had a little play around and ended up with this result:
The temps are reasonable, but a little high maybe. This is just idling and on the forum:
With that VID, I am unsure if the volts I'm giving it are suitable? The computer locked up whilst playing CSS and when I attempted to run Everest Stability Test.
So, I restarted, with view to enter the bios and lower the clock/up the voltage. However the PC boots up and beeps once (as normal I think) and starts to load windows, but with nothing on screen. I flick the monitor off and on and it displays No Signal even though by this time I think the PC is probably on desktop.
After turning the pc off, and on, then turning off the PSU etc and waiting a while, and repeating a couple of times, It eventually boots up, and the screen is OK, everything is visible.
I still need to try the "on/off/wait" method several times to ever actually get a picture.
However it now does not detect a keyboard on boot, which at that point was a PS2 type. I connected a USB keyboard, and it's no different.
When I eventually reach vista, it installs drivers for the USB one, and enables me to type this post.
So, I am stuck, when my monitor eventually shows a picture on boot, I can't get into bios to change anything because the keyboard won't work.
I am honestly sorry to spew out such a long and boring post, thought I would try and cover everything to begin with.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
