Issues with new bundle from Overclockers

Hi guys

I recently bought the following bundle from Overclockers:

Designed by experts the "Krypton Z68 TURBO Bundle" is a pre-configured high performance "plug and play" bundle featuring optimised settings. The Guaranteed 4.00GHz overclock has the processing power and speed unseen at this price point ever before. The "Krypton Z68 TURBO" will accelerate your computer experience into the next level.

Bundle Specification
- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.00GHz Sandybridge CPU
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68
- RAM: TeamGroup Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
- Cooler: Prolimatech Lynx CPU Cooler

Upon first booting up, I encountered the following error:

"The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking or changes of voltages.

Last settings in BIOS setup may not coincide with current H/W states.

Current CPU speed: 3.4GHz
Current BCLK: 100MHz
Current Memory Speed: 1600MHz"

I have a 600W PSU so presumably my power is fine.

Now my first issue is, I cannot press any key to continue because I don't have a serial keyboard connection! Presumably I am correct in saying I can't edit the BIOS without a serial connected keyboard? My USB one doesn't work. Secondly, if I did get a keyboard, what do I do next to sort out this problem? It looks like the overclocked bundle the website sent me has failed so how do I fix this?

PS. I don't know a lot about PC building jargon - my previous builds have all gone very smoothly so any simplified answers would be appreciated!
 
Hello and welcome to the forum :)

I am surprised your USB keyboard does not work, Are you plugged direct into the motherboard or through a usb hub?

If you can get into the BIOS Ocuk should have saved a the overclock profile, to load this press F12, Should read Load CMOS from BIOS and this should show the ocuk saved profile, load this and reboot and hopefully you should be up and running.

Can I ask what is the make and model of the PSU?
 
Thanks RJC. I'm using a wireless keyboard with a USB adapter plugged into the motherboard so that might be an issue...

I'll get a serial keyboard and check it out.

In terms of the PSU, it's a Cooler Master iGreen Power 600W.

The PSU is ok which is good, thought I better ask :p

I have used wireless keyboard in the past and had no issue in entering the BIOS, my spare system uses a wireless keyboard and enters the BIOS ok. :D
 
RJC - keyboard turned out to be a dodgy connection which is fixed now. I'll have a look tonight to see if I can load the saved OCUK profile and take it from there.

squarehead94 - do you know how I might be able to find out if the RAM voltages are the problem?

Hi tragicbuffoon,

The bios message that you have received is more than likely due to a change in power supply from the one it was tested with to yours. It is nothing to worry about and if you load the saved profile you should be back up and running.

That's good, hopefully you be back up and running, sometimes the overclocks can fail, this has happened to me in the past, re did the overclocks and alls well.

I would not worry about the memory voltage just yet.
 
Thanks for your help guys. As Ohlawll said, the change in the voltage was nothing to worry about. I did as RJC suggested and it loaded up the OCUk profile. My CPU is now stress testing at 4.1GHz rather than 3.3GHz. Sweet!!!
