ok just got some new parts and having issues.

after i boot the system it goes through express gate then says hard drive not detected, - then i go into bios and the hard drive is detected. and then i turned it on again and it says hard drive not detected again then loads windows!! but i get some weird power problems and the mouse and keyboard suddenly stop working then come on again a few seconds later.

i then swap over the 4 pin cpu cable with the 8 pin 1 and reboot system. it stil says hard drive not detected in post but then loads windows again - seems better this time and im typing this message. anyone have idea whats happening before i swap over the psu - cables seem fine.

specs are

asus p6t deluxe
corsair 1600 6 gb ram
core i7 920
nvidia gtx 280
collermaster realpower 850

hmm the keyboard and mouse power issue seems to have disapeared since i replaced the 4 pin cpu connector with the 8 pin one by removing the pad blocking the 4 pins.

i still get hard drive not detected though it still loads windows eventually - basicly express gate comes up first - click load os - asus p6t splash screen comes up - says hard drive not detected - posts a few other things then the splash screen reappears then windows starts to load. im confused!

cpu temp is an issue but idle its safe to not cause any problems - about 45degrees - but ill fix that with doing better job of thermal paste/new heatsink soon.

yeah its still pretty quick would be faster if i disable express gate! and would be even faster if it recognised the hdd after the first splash screen. im just concerned somethings wrong that might get worse.

Its because is it loading the Raid drivers, or additional storage drivers. Mine did it, and i was worried too :)

Disable it in the BIOS and the Expressgate sh1te and yee shall be fine
