I have recently moved into a property which only has OFNL Fibre The massive overkill of an ONT is fitted and there was a TPLink router left over. However I plugged my own Asus router into the ONT and ordered a 900/90 service with a static IP with Merula. Fair play this was up within a couple of hours, however a couple of days into troubleshooting my nginx setup and it turns out they didn't apply my static IP. No problem, once it was assigned everything was working again.
However the speed hasn't been great. 350 down, 90 up. I was told this would get better but 12 days in and it's not improved. Merula's own speed test site, fast.com, thinkbroadband all give me the same results. HOWEVER, Ookla and some servers do get me 900 down.
My whole setup worked fine 3 weeks ago on BT 900/100 so I know it's not my hardware. However Merula are now focused on those few Ookla servers that give me 900 down and saying there is no fault. I disagre, but also my knowledge ends here.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be happening or what more I can do to troubleshoot? I have a couple of speedtest docker instances running every couple of hours (not as the same time) and I barely even get half.
