Ive just finished putting together my new computer.

Hit the power button and it all whirls to life, but the mointor doesnt nothing. It says 'no signal'.

Its all connected up from what i can tell, correctly, and ive tried all ports on the gfx cards.

Im kinda stuck now, does anyone know where i maybe going wrong?

2 - Asus GeForce GTX 275 896MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card (Includes Terminator Salvation PC Game)
1 - AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail
1 - Asus M4N82 Deluxe nForce 980a SLi (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

GFX fan is spinning, both are. As far as I can tell the cards are getting power...the fans are spinning

u need to setup the SLi with one card in first:D and have u checked the BIOS for SLi enabled?

Ive put one of the new cards in! And it wont let me see the screen. How can I install one to install the other :P let me fix one issue first :P

So it works with the previous card i used...but not these brand new ones...

still can be faulty, even brand new items may have problems, read around the forums and there are many threads for faulty parts bought brand new.

EDIT: I suppose because of so many little things and bits and bobs, it's very easy for something to go wrong.

So two cards brand new, both tried solo. Are faulty? I kinda doubting that. I recon its the way its setup...

How can I find out where ive gone wrong? im trying everything :(

This is what im trying to establish.

Ive got a 1000W PSU. How do I know if its connected properly to the gfx card etc...the gfx card itself is different to what im use to..normaly i just plug in and off i go, without needing to connect another power cable.

can't tell what you mean mate.

if each card has two 6 pin sockets, there should be a cable going into each socket, so 2 cables per card. the cables should be coming from your PSU. The cables should say PCI-E on them. Also check the CPU Power socket to make sure you haven't mixed the cables up, as the power cables look similar.

Well im telling ya theres only two cables. One came with each gfx card. But aoppears that unless theres two in each card it wont work.

Right now pc has booted with one gfx card with two 6 pin sockets connected to power

Im not trying to sound like a jerk here. But with the GFX cards came with one small cable. That look like this.

6 pin end goes into gfx card..other end connects to cable from PSU.

I only have TWO off these cables. Because as I said one came with each card.

But for some reason cards wont work unless you have two.

aah, those are 4 pin to 6 pin converter cables.

if your psu doesn't have any 6 pin cables, you can convert two 4 pins into a 6 pin for your gfx card.

since you have a 1000w PSU, you don't need to use those. your PSU should have 4 6pin cables already.

It would appear those are probably in the box it came with when i made my old pc. Seeing as the psu didnt need renewing i just through it in and connected it all.

Guess i need to find/buy those cables
