Picked up a VTX 6950 a little over a month ago from OcUK, all has been fine up until the last week.

The problems started when playing the Rift beta and am now getting the same issues in Dead Space 2. The games run fine but after a random amount of time, can be 5 mins or a few hours my computer will crash and reboot, sometimes when this happens the fan will crank up to 100% and will require me to shut off the computer.

The card is running stock and I have lowered my cpu overclock to stock but to no avail. I have also tried catalyst 10.11, 10.12, 11.1 and 11.1a but the crash still occurs.

I have noticed the card can get rather hot getting up to 85 Celcius in random games.

This afternoon it has crashed at least half a dozen times in Dead Space 2 normally within 10 mins of play.

Anybody have an ideas?

edit: oh am running win7 64 bit

go to admin tools in control panel event viewer then event viewer local,

see if there are error / warnings
kernel power
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

thats due to graphics card crashes i think

Yup just checked the event viewer, and thats exactly what it says, am just hoping its a duff driver than a duff card :(
