Having a few little issues with the built I've built.

Here are specs:

Seem to be having sort of sound juddering/mouse skipping issue, which appears to be connected to when the cpu is under load. I'm starting to think it may be a ram issue. Say for example I do a cpu stress test with intel burn test the mouse skips all over the place to the point where I struggle to stop the program! Also if a lot is going on my sound skips.

Also having an issue with my sound going loud/quiet. So in counter strike it appears to adjust itself from being quite quiet to quite loud.

Any suggestions? Really frustrating.

Thanks for the responses.

Did a memtest all last night didn't come back with any errors.

Is it still worth trying one stick of ram even with no errors on memtest?

Right been having a bit of a play.

Re-installed windows, updated bios (was on 1.10 updated the 1.50).

Installed windows on standard 3.3 clock, have since overclocked to 4.6 but still having same mouse laggy judder issue when running intel burn test.

Here is a screenshot of my ram page on cpu-z Admiral, is this what you wanted?

That ram screen is when it's on 4.6 with speedstep enabled. Nothing changes on that screen when running intel burn test.

Also apologies for seeming thick but what does XMP and JDEC mean?

Any ideas?

Just had it where was installing a program and it kinda froze for a few seconds with a windows sound loop, then was fine, really frustrating.

I've sorted the sound going quiet/loud was just a setting in audio settings

Did it again a moment ago, loaded something up and the sound I was listening to looped for a few seconds, along with the mouse freeze, then was back to being OK again. Seems to be related to a spike of some kind from the ram. I'm not that big of a techie so can't explain what I mean properly!

It also did it a few times while testing COD, the game ran brilliantly at a really high frame rate, just had this odd freeze/sound loop.

Would it make any difference me doing a memtest with the ram in separately not at the same time? I'm determined to get to the bottom of it!

I recently had a problem where a few games would completely lock up after only playing about 20 minutes. It was ultimately put down to the sound drivers. I can't figured out exactly what was the problem but lowering the quality for me and disabling anything that's unnecessary in game seems to have fixed it.

Also, I'd underclock it for now to see if you still get the sound loop issue.

Have been having a play with the ram and sound.

Removed the old (idenical) 3x2gb XMS3 from my old PC which I knew were working, put in new pc but still had the same problem. Then removed and put back in new 2x4gb XMS3.

Have removed the sound drivers and tried my Creative Titanium, disabled onboard sound removed drivers etc and exactly the same again, mouse jerking all over the place.

I'm a bit stumped as to what it could be, is it possible the MOBO is faulty? It can't be anything software related as it does it with no programs running. Also tried putting ram in the other 2 dual channel slots to no avail.

Are all of the connections to the components in properly? Did you try re-seating your CPU cooler?

I apologize for the many questions but I know how frustrating this can be and I imagine you want to get to the bottom of it.

Yeah updated bios from 1.10 to 1.50.

Haven't tried re-seating the CPU cooler but isn't a temp problem so would that make a difference?

Ha is very frustrating dude but thanks for the suggestions, thought you might be onto something with the sound but it's not to be.

Will see if anyone else has any ideas.

Im not saying its that but could be worth looking in to especially if its only your mouse thats playing up.
Also are you runing the ram in bank 1+3

I'm using an intellimouse 3, have always used these mouses for years, have had issues before with them become jerky and d/cing when they start breaking, but this this is a slightly different jerkyness. Have installed the drivers also.

Still having this issue, having spoken to overclockers a few months back they deemed it pointless to RMA the mobo as they can't see how it would cause the problem, tried changing the hard drive over to an older unit as well, but still doesn't seem 100%. Kind of regretting now not being more forceful with the mobo RMA! :mad:

Still an on-going issue regarding this, ever since I've built the PC I've never felt it was as good as it could be - the mouse/sound skipping eventually seemed to go away although still mildly apparent, never seemed as bad as when I first brought.

An issue which has been obvious recently is games not appearing smooth - general windows fine, but games appearing to either skip/stutter. Reformatted countless times along with updating to latest drivers etc, nothing seems to work.

Best way to describe, games always seem buggy, skyfall seems horribly buggy, with textures bugging, same with crysis 2, csgo etc. Am I looking at a possible graphics card problem? Still running the overclock at 4.4 - same problems when running no overclock - temps fine.
