It begins... (Help now needed to get higher)

Well, the rig arrived:

Lian-Li Chassis
DS4 Mobo
6600 CPU
Cellshock PC8000 12-4-4-4 memory
2x Seagate 7200.10 320Gb (RAID-0)
GeForce 8800GTX.

So far:

Typing this @ 400x8, 3.2GHz@1600FSB, Memory at 800@4-4-4-12. About to up the ante again...

(EDIT: See bottom post)

Played around some more, now at 400x7 in the bios.

Windows (right click properties on my computer) is reporting 3.6GHz.
Core Temp Beta 0.94 is reporting 3.6GHz (514x7)
Gigabyte OC tool is reporting 3.6GHz.

CPU-Z is reporting 2.8GHz

What do I believe?

Just getting ready to raise the FSB up ;)

I'm going for 500+ FSB, don't want the CPU speed to slow me down - yet...

I think all the other tools are reading a fixed multi - it's just strange that XP Hardware info is reporting 3.6 too...

VCore 1.4, FSB +0.25, MCH + 0.20, VDimm + 0.4 (Cellshock specs are 2.2V, board is 1.8 default).

I set FSB to 440, Memory to 2:1, CPU Multi to 7, on save and exit, the bios just flips the "Manual FSB" to disabled and boots at 7x266...

Any way to stop it trying to think it knows best?

Damn "intelligent" boads...

Just waiting for 3dMark 06 to finish downloading then up to 1.5V, see what happens!

By the way, Core Temp 0.94 is reporting Core 0 @ 27C and Core 1 @ 28C. Room temp is 18.5C (cold!)

Speedfan 4.31 is reporting 36C and 20C for CPU and System.

What should I believe?

Vcore now at 1.3875 or around there. Seems stable at 405FSB, 8x Multi, 4:5 RAM (1010MHz) @ 4-4-4-12.

G(MCH) @ +.1
FSB @ +.1
PCIE @ +0, 105MHz

With CPU up to 1.525, FSB up to +.3, G(MCH) up to +.3, my FSB wall seems to be 430MHz (Even with 7x multi).

Temps are below 40C at any of these voltages.

Can't get 9x multi at 400FSB either =(
