Is anybody looking for a contract in IT at the moment and having problems finding one? I've just been looking at the job recruitment websites and it's not looking great. Fortunately I've got something until the end of the year but hope it picks up pretty soon. Hopefully the bleak economy doesn't create any problems.

I guess one of the big advantages I have as a contractor is that I don't have a mortgage or family keeping me based in a particular location. I can easily relocate to wherever there is a position available. Although I have found that its difficult to get recruiters to look at your cv if your address is nowhere near the location of the available position.
I've never had any problems finding work and its still a few months before my current contract ends, and who knows they might extend it again into 09. Just thought I should start looking at vacanies to see what the market currently looks like and its not looking that great.
I guess companies are not stating new projects since its coming to the end of the finacial year but the market should pick up again early next year.
