The moon is only 240k miles away! Averages out as 129 miles a day for every day of its existance :/

Assuming £50/500 miles in fuel, this thing will have cost around £31,000 in fuel alone to run. It also has a FBMWSH which I imagine would have in excess of 20 stamps.

It's even been used to tow stuff :D

What shape/model is that body wise?, for some reason that exact shaped beemer always loos a little different to me. I see a black one down the road most days thats been slammed on 18" schnitzers. Quite a sexy car.

Its the early pre facelift E46, some right bargains to be had on them at the minute!

T Reg 320d on Auto Trader for £5k+ with normal miles!

Cheers :)

Every mechanic I know seems to have a story about some mega milage Taxi thats hit 250k+ without much in the way of major work :p

TBH for what the BMW main dealer servicing and the extended warrenty cost I'm sure you could keep almost any car on the road for that amount of milage in that short of a time.

Ahh right :). I'll try and snap a shot of the car parked near by later, it may have a subtle bodykit or something, i'd love to know what it is anyway, very sexy car imo.

there's a Smart fourtwo with 339600 miles on the road in the UK at the moment.
apart from a brake change and a new clutch all other repairs were minor.

310,000 motorway miles isn't all that exciting. If a beemer DIDN'T make that far with the same history it would be interesting!

if an alfa romeo didn't make i would be suprised. Theres a jag with similar milage linked to on meg.

Impressive though! Particuarly the leather seats - the previous owner must have taken care of them and frequently conditioned them for them to look so good at such a huge mileage!

not really as fox always says milage does not mean wear, with that sort of milage on that age of car most of the milage HAS to be up and down motorways. Seat wear is done by getting in and out and usually wears on the lumber due to this. they dont wear while your sitting still in them. As this car has obviously been a motorway shuttle then there has not been much in and out behaviour :)

What poor soul had to go through that torture? Are they issuing 50k in a Smart instead of prison sentences now? It makes sense in these days of overcrowded prisons.

Ask anyone who attended yesterdays meet how BMW leather seats handle proper Motorway mileage (Rather than loads of town miles the seller pretends is Motorway miles).
