Hi Guys,

I'm after an OpenSource piece of software that allows me to create an IT knowledgebase of sorts. It will be strictly internal and not customer facing. I've had a search, but I can't find anything conclusive.

Specs, if possible:

- User management
- Easily searchable
- Easy to add/edit items
- etc

If you need any other info, let me know.

Cheers.

Confluence is better than mediawiki IMO. They are the two that came to mind when reading your post though.

Mediawiki is ok I just always found the search function to be rather lacklustre.

It looks like you can skin mediawiki have you looked at the screenshots on their website? If the looks bother you maybe that would help out a bit

SharePoint Foundation if your running it on a Windows 2008 server.

SharePoint Foundation is free if you have the OS. You can create a custom list, which searchable and users can subscribe to it so if new entry is added they get an email...

Just one idea.

This is pretty much the only thing I consider wrong about mediawiki. It can be fairly well sorted by using groups, but if you're adding random articles, good luck ever finding them again.
