It may be time.... 360 to PS3

Had the 360 for 18 months but I think the PS3 is now a proposition. Given the bluray and the fact that GT5 and MGS4 are ever nearer. I also have a logitech DFP which is gathering dust so would like to get hold of F1 and GT Prologue.

Hmmmm, should I take the plunge, I could have both but this just seems pointless to me.

What other games should I be tempted by that are PS3 exclusive?
Also, what will I miss on 360 in the next twelve months and whats in the PS3 pipeline?

You are in the wrong forum to ask that kind of question, try avforums .... fewer fanboys, couldn't point you in the direction of a gaming forum as you would get twice as much nonsense on those forums than here.
 
it depends what you want, theres some very good games coming out that i wouldn't want to miss. But if you're happy trading those in for the ps3 excusives then go for it.
 
id like to here from someone who has both.

The bluray is the pull for me, if the graphics are no worse on PS3 then ill go for it. Looking at various screenshots it seems PS3 has a few more jaggys than 360 but they could be biased sources.
 
Im thinking of getting a PS3 myself but no way in hell would i part with my 360 elite, id probably use the PS3 for the blu ray capabilities but then i could just go out and buy a standalone player i suppose lol.

There are some pretty decent games coming out for the PS3 though...a lot of my mates have PS3's so i could always join them for a game or 2...
 
I got a 360 at release and a ps3 at release, have had two different models of each system ...... and I would say that the ps3 is my favourite of the two.

An excellent machine with lots of additional features ( blu-ray, wifi, superior movie / music playback, free online, quieter than the 360, user upgradable HDD etc ), some of the multiformat games have had superior versions released on the 360 but DMC4, Burnout and COD4 have been better on the PS3 and PS3 exclusives are superior looking than 360 titles ( Uncharted, GT5P, Motorstorm ) and with MGS4, LBP, Resistence 2, Killzone 2, Home, Wipeout HD out this year and GOW3 and FF13 next year along side GT5 then the exclusives talk for themselves.

And with all the 3rd party titles aswell ( GTA4 and the rest ) its all good.



Then again, I am a PS3 fanboy and this response will have been predicted.

I have both and use the PS3 mainly for Blu-Ray cause thats what i bought it for. I have tried various demos and have grown to like Motorstorm and will definitely get MGS4 because i have loved the series so far.

I buy multiplatform games on the 360 mainly for Live cause all my friends are on it. Can't really comment on the jaggies in games since i dont own the same game on each console, but it depends if its a port from the 360 to the PS3 such as The Darkness and Lost Planet. I played the demo of Lost Planet on the PS3 and didn't like it compared to the 360. Its just a bad port as stated in many reviews, so dont let it put you off.

The main exclusives you will miss are obviously the sequels to the current ones like Gears of War 2, next Halo if it comes out on the 360 (i know about the whole Bungie leaving MS thing), Alan Wake, Prey 2, PGR etc

For me i will only get exclusives for my PS3 because i like the 360 controller too much and the Live interface. Its all down to preference.
 
Not bothered about PGR5 as GT5 will do for me :) Only exclusive I would miss would be GoW2.

How on earth can anyone say Burnout Paradise is "superior" on the PS3??? Have put loads of hours on the 360 version and about 10 hours for my sister's boyfriend on his PS3. How anyone can one version is better is ridiculous - they are exactly the same game - playing and looking exactly the same in all ways. Personally I couldn't find anything that was worse on the PS3 compared to the 360 and vice versa.

I can say the same for COD4 as I did a similar thing for him on several veteran levels (he's a nwb thinking about it tbh :) ). I played for a good 5 hours and struggled to see any jaw dropping differences that would make me post in a public forum and say COD4 is better on xxxx console. I mean crap, I even played these games on the same hdtv set.

I'll try and persuade him to get DMC4 so i can compare that too, although i imagine the 360 and PS3 versions will be mighty similar again.

A typical fanboy response Needles and you are unfortunately correct in saying the OP is posting in the forum :(

Can you afford to have both? You may aswell if you can. You seem to want GT5 a lot and MGS4, so i would get it if you dont mind leaving the 360 exclusives.
 
Did you read the bottom of my post you ass?

And yes Burnout is better on PS3 ( even the elite of the console section, the almighty nokkon agrees ... so it must be true. As he knows more about this knind of thing than the rest of us ).
 
hmmm, i might buy a PS3 with F1ce, GT5 Prologue, Motorstorm and a few others as recomended and keep the 360 for a month or so.

I will then flog one as having both would annoy me.
 
Meh, I'm tempted to argue with the poor fool but there's simply no point. Mainly i really cba to at the mo.

How people can make such swooping and all encompassing statements backed up by more than xxx person said so is beyond me.
