IT on call - What does everyone get paid

My ex-employer paid £350 for a week oncall 24/7 and that was 1:4. Overtime was then earnt at 1.5x per hour.

Would have been quite good if a home worker but was a mobile field engineer so expected to do a 8hr day shift driving around and then be oncall all night.

So guys when busy where driving all day then out most of the night so doing a 20hr shift. Had an 11hr resting period after but it was exhausting especially for the over 50s in age.

I've left that behind me now but still jump whenever I hear an android phone ring. Would not recommend oncall to anyone.

Afternoon all, a bit of a BUMP...
What are the current IT Call out rates in 2025? I am trying to get a figure agreed with the business i work for but dont know what the current trend is....
thank you.

Think you need to add a bit more context. Are you resetting gran's laptop for her or recovering a data centre that caught fire?

Its in my contract so technically they can call out of hours. But my work phone gets turned off once I leave :D
