I have a job interview coming up for an entry level type IT support position. There is going to be a 15min written test aswell as a 20 min interview.

So I'm just wondering what do you think the test will be about? and what kind of questions would they ask in the interview?

Cheers

Could be absolutly anything mate.

Basic IT support roles will probably cover Active Directory (creating accounts, reset passwords, modify group permissions etc..)

Then general day-to-day fault fixing, setting up users outlook profiles, roaming profile errors, etc..

Printers, Exchange, Office and other software, Access Rights, Hardware.

Most questions will be easy to understand, but you have to explain how you would fix the problems. Providing say 3 fixes for each one if its applicable.

Lastly, remember not every problem has an IT quick fix.
I remember going for an interview and them asking about a massively important letter than needed faxing today but the users fax machine was down.

In the end after them denying my possible fixes, i said email and fax then post from here was the correct answer.
