So I get a call the other day from a worker at one of our clients. I will call her "Sally" for the purposes of this post.

Me: *Company name here*, how can I help?
Sally: Hi, would it be possible to send an engineer to come and install some RAM for us.
Me: OK, let me book a technician for you.

I'm not an on site guy, so I immediately place her on hold and shout;
"GUYZ! SALLY WANTS SOMEONE TO INSTALL SOME RAM FOR HER"

"ILL DO HER" replies one of my colleagues, "TOMORROW AT TEN".

I take her off hold and tell her the technician will be there tomorrow at ten. "Wonderful, thanks, bye".

Next day, my colleague arrives at our office at 11AM with a screwdriver in his shirt pocket, I ask him "How did it go?"....

In a ****ed off tone: "Yeah, we usually have to order the RAM before we go and install it."

OH ****! :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

So, what mishaps have you guys had...

I had a fun one last week as well.

"My Outlook isn't working"
Run through the usual diagnostics then remote onto her computer to take a look. Lo and behold its there in all its glory on the second screen.
"Turn your second monitor on".
"Oh, do I need to do that?"

I did laugh a bit afterwards.

Ahh, I get plenty of these!

Got a call once at 9AM...

Client: Hi, I've just logged on and there's a red cross showing on the shared folders, can you take a look please.
Me: What happens when you double-click it?
Client: Its working now! That was quick, thank you so much!

:rolleyes:

:D

Yeah we get that at work. I just tell people to open the folders as usual and they'll get the files they need. Wish I could solve it as its quite an annoying "fake" problem to have. I believe its only happened since we got our new admin server a few months ago. :confused:
Yeah, it's a weird issue. Even refreshing my computer doesn't get rid of the red cross. It's only when you actually open the shared drive that the red cross disappears.

Happens only sometimes and for some clients. Happens intermittently on my home server network too.
