What's the verdict on these training course things where they claim they'll help you into your career? I got a call from these guys today: http://techworks-learning.com/index.php and have an appointment soon where apparently they'll explain to me how they can help me into work with their programs.

Of course I won't be signing/agreeing to anything there and then, I'm just curious as to whether this path actually works. Any folks on here who've gone this route and actually got something out of it? For the record I've already graduated from Uni with a degree in Computer Science. Thanks.

Do you already have a job in IT or something IT-related? Speaking from experience, my qualifications were second to personality and experience, both of which were considered most important by my previous and current employers. I did a few training courses after my Software Engineering course and I can't really say that I have benefited from them.

I would argue that you can never have too many qualifications but is it time better spent doing other things? You already have a degree in Computer Science, what more could a company ask for? Management Training perhaps, if you are that way inclined, but I honestly feel you are very employable as it is. How much practical hands-on experience do you have?

Not in an IT related job and have no "real" IT experience. Just the degree and some previous work experience that isn't IT related. Still looking for a career job at the moment. You're right about the time factor, I don't know how long these courses last and I'd rather get stuck in than commit to more studying, presumably out of my own pocket as well. If I already had a job and the employer was paying for it then that would be a different story...

I think it's just the idea that they say it can help you into a career. Plain rubbish or is there some truth in it?
