I noticed the phrasing but was just double-checking

I would e-mail Feek but I don't feel I know him well enough for him to reply. ie I'd just be being nosy

It's interesting, people say it's just an internet forum - but would it make any difference if it was an old-style physical forum gathering? I always wonder that....I don't suppose there'd be as many keyboard warriors...if there were, they'd be the crazy people hanging from balconies yelling their point, then getting jumped on by the anti-warriors, while the normal people carry on chatting....humans are sociable beings who form communities and, to me, it matters little where those communities form so "it's just an internet forum" to me shows that people themselves are pretty apathetic.
