I'm getting sick of my current spec struggling with literally anything I throw at it, had an idea in April of upgrading but decided to hold off for a bit. I really want to experience ARMA 2 / MS:FSX / BF3 / The Withcher 2 / Metro 2033 in all their graphical glory. I really want something that's going to give me a wow factor in an upgrade but I can't see the money spent on the spec i've currently drawn up in ahcieving this! So looking for some advice. My budget is between 800 - 1000 (this can be flexible depending on future proofing e.g. this machine I want to last me the next 2 - 3 years). Also, I know the new 28nm are coming out soon so willing to hold out on graphics if it really will make that much of a difference.
I have a monitor (24" 1920x1200) / hdd (slow)
Really want a soundcard just due to onboard always being such a nightmare for me (atm I have only one speaker playing, and I've checked the connection cable and it is fine, and on nearly every other machine I've had onboard sound is the first to go). Headphones are a major plus but not a necessity if the ones I've chosen aren't much better than my Sennheisser's 201HD.
