My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £448.92 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Forgot to add a few fans but otherwise is this a good bet? Adding my current storage and 1070. PSU is pricey but on a good saving? Not sure if theres a better ram option etc

could save a few quid with these, also think they look better :p

Nice one thanks. Every little counts.

Happy for more suggestions. The case isnt exactly exciting but it's going behind the TV in my living room so just needs to be functional.

I guess this RAM is lesser in some way?

*ignore that, it's clearly slower than your suggestion/my original one

Weird, if I add your ram and remove mine, it adds on £11 postage? Not sure why that is though

*scrap that must have been a bug, re did the basket and delivery is free again :) so it's now at £442. We can go a bit lower

The tomahawk max is slightly cheaper than the mortar at the moment, and is a slightly better board. But would require an ATX case, which would likely cost more

Ahh yeah I'm after M-atx really as I want to go as small as possible but still have room for an upgrade or 2 in the future as it's for a living room hooked up to TV situation, appreciate the opinion though. Out of interest, in what way is the suggested board better? I'm fairly ignorant on it all if I'm honest :D

They are very similar, but the tomahawk has slightly better VRM and cooling. Though I suspect that unless you're overclocking a 3950x you'd probably never notice the difference :P I think it also has better audio, but not sure about that

Thanks :)

Should I add an NVMe SSD at this point? I have a standard ssd for windows and did intend to just continue using that?

Also is there a good deal on a good general HDD for storage? Mines pretty old at this point

** ordered now. Changed the case for this one as a B Grade? Not sure what that means/what to expect? I guess maybe opened and returned?

B' grade, could be anything. Slight damage to the case or missing parts/instructions?

NVME = I doubt you'd notice much difference in bootup time/programme loading times. NVME means 2 less leads in the case.

HDD. Prices for these have pretty much bottomed out. I swear by Western Digital as I've bought many of them of them over the years & only had one fail under warranty. Get the blue but no idea what size you need.

Thanks :) yeah I've skipped on the NVMe.

It's silly they dont offer more information on the B Grade items. Sounds hit or miss so hopefully it's a good one.

I've had a couple b grade parts, in both cases they were just open box parts and have been perfect otherwise. I have seen threads of people having issues with b grade stuff, but they always seem to end with them just sending them back for refunds.
