At the moment I am using 4x512mb sticks of corsair xms2 twinx ram which is not really ideal. I'm using vista 64bit and I am noticing the slowdown of applications eating up my ram, so 4GB would be a good choice.

Do you think I should replace my existing ram?

Yes, 4GB of RAM will make a difference in Vista 64.

As for replacing your RAM, how are you going to do it if you don't. You have already filled four slots?? It makes sense to replace your existing RAM tbh. RAM is so cheap at the moment and you can get the 4GB for under £80 anyway, so it makes sense running 4x1GB modules all running at the same speeds etc.

You can get 4GB of Geil ULL for under £60 from this very establishment :)
