any views/opinions about these two sets???

I've seen the iTrigue from close and is very cute, descent price as well.
subwoffer box is very solid. I am sure they will look da **** on the desk siting around my 20"tft
Logitech's pack looks a bit bulky and old fashioned.

Z5400 has almost triple wattage, and built in encoders.
are they worth it?

For ordinary usage without anoying flatmates/neighbours do you need all this power? I mean clarity comes first right?
how is they their mid range quality? (some nice jazz)
beesides rocking with mp3s, who is actually gaming really loud..?

furthermore it kind puts me off the fact that the subwoofer box only has the hole on the side.

no one can question z5500 performance especially with that huge box.
but what about the 5400?

so does anyone have any of them?

I've been researching into the 5400s myself, since i'm thinking of buying a set. From what i can tell they were only released in europe, hence the lack of reviews.

They are however practically identical to the 5450s, bar their "wireless" (i use the term loosely) rear speakers and higher price tag. The 5450s were released worldwide so there are far more reviews of these. They both have the same inputs and have identical rated wattages, as well as identical front speakers, sub and control unit so i think its pretty safe to generalise between the two models. Just ignore comments on the rear speakers as in the 5400 the rears are identical to the fronts.

From what I've read they seem to be pretty decent, and better than most PC speakers. Havent had a chance to demo them though, as I've only seen them in e-tailers.

I am more interested in the itrigue to be honest

but never the less, could you post a review link for the logitech set?

tnx

This is a pretty good review of the 5450s.

Logitech 5450 review

The only reviews i've found for the 5400s have been on e-tailers sites, and they've been customer reviews.

My main reason for going towards the logitechs are that they enable you to connect more than just your PC to them, so they're ideal for very small scale home theater (eg. my situation, student room).

hmm good idea... and to be honest i hadnt thought about that...

u see I am no TV fan... and if change then Iwill most likely get a Tv tuner.
no Xbox or ps either so... my pc is pretty much all I got...

by the way... having the back speakers wireless is not a bad idea!!! trust me... when u just wanna lay in ** bed watch a movie from a distance.. it comes in handy to be able to move ** speakers about... I do it all the time...
turn the monitor around.. reposition the speakers and vouala!!! :)

tnx for the link by the way... let me know if do finaly get them ;)
