I was thinking of buying one of these for my psp has anyone got one for their ipod?

I was wondering how clear they were considering they are through your radio.

I have a 1 gig card for my psp so I could have a nice random music collection playing through my car stereo.

Beats a 6 disc mutichanger.

I've got one for my nano, mainly use it in the car as it's a lot smaller to carry around than a faceoff, and holds plenty more music than a few cd's.

Not had any problems with it, just don't pick a major station frequency as it wont work. When stationary you can usually pick up a signal from about 10 meters.

Does tend to eat through the battery (about 3hrs on my nano) But i think thats the only downside.

I think they were ilegal to buy in the UK but not ilegal to use them or something along those lines.

I think it's legal now though :)

I think it was the other way round, legal to buy, illegal to use. Something to do with unlicensed FM transmitters. I've found nothing to say that they are legal to use in the UK as of yet, just that the issue is being looked into.

The only reason i ask is that i'd quite like to use my iPod in the car and this is by far the easiest means.

Well i never seen them anywhere in the shops so i thought it was the other way around? Ah well, doesn't matter which way round it was i suppose.

I was under the impression the law was changed recently because so many people use them now anyway?

And whether or not it's ilegal you would be very unlucky to get done for it, i have never heard of somebody ever being prosecuted for it.

EDIT: they are set to be mae legal before christmas (unless they are already) Search google with "fm transmitters law uk" quite a few websites reporting this on there.

Just done a bit of reading and it would appear that it is still illegal, but due to so many people currently using them ofcom is looking at making them legal. This could happen by Christmas or early in 2007.

*edit* LOL, cross posting as we both came to the same answer :D

chances of being caught are virtually 0 i'd be surprised if the common plod even knew what they were.

It just looks like an extra battery or something.

they are illegal here in belgium as well but I don't care as I rarely see mr plod anyway.

well i'm going to get a cigarette power supply for my psp and this so power won't be a problem. I've read that it requires a separate supply that doesn't recharge but I have no end of recharable batteries as well so that doesn't bother me i'll have to just remember to change them once per week.

I have a 50 min trip in the car and the 4 cds in my car quickly become repetative if I can download some tracks each week it will suit me better;

We have one that plugs into the car cigarette lighter and it charges the nano whilst playing music :)
