I dabbled with games consoles on and off over the years, I always end up coming back to PC gaming, simply as its where my roots are.
I do believe that the PS3 finally nailed it for me, the PS3 is a system with a fantastic controller (IMO) and a wonderfully superb user interface that allows for great ease of use and will also play some media on my TV however games on a PS3 are simply a joke at times….
Please, not looking to get into any fanboy arguments… The PS3 is a fantastic machine, until you load up a game, and realise hardly any AA is applied in most titles, its lower res then even an Xbox 360 for some titles, and worse yet… Many a game on the PS3 tears on screen, and I personally hate screen tearing.
Therefore PS3 as great as it is at other stuff, BBC iplayer, media playback etc just isn’t being used and I’ve once again left console gaming in favour of PC gaming..
The Xbox360 sees many of its titles end up on PC anyhow, I can actually use a PS3 controller as an emulated xbox360 controller on my PC, PC has much higher res, heck even my laptop can play 1080p games via HDMI on my plasma with no screen tearing, as opposed to my PS3 which can’t, so for me yet again PC gaming wins…
I will be playing PC games until the day they say PC gaming is dead, and even then I’ll be like I was with my Amiga, holding on to it until I know for sure its all finally over……..
I just can’t do it, I can leave gaming consoles cold, PC gaming… Nah I always come back for more..
