It's almost that time again... Another tyre thread!

Well thought I would update this thread. I needed tyres badly on all four corners as all were either on the verge of or illegal, so last weekend I took the plunge as the car had been sitting doing nothing since the karting meet and I was missing driving it. My other car also needed an mot, major service and a new tyre in the same weekend so funds were pretty tight as was time so the budget for all 4 on the Porsche was £850 fitted.

Having looked around and weighed up the options (apart from the leave it for another week or so option) I called blackcircles and ordered the Bridgestone Pontenza SO2A N3 Spec. Delivered to my local tyre place they were something like £830. To be honest I wanted the Pilot Sport 2 as I heard good things about them but after getting the Bridgestones fitted and the geometry done they have transformed the car over the N4 P Zero Rossos which were on there before.

looking at the pictures online I was expecting to turn up to the garage and have some funky tread pattern but the tyre looks nothing like the pics and has a different inside and outside pattern. It looks more similar to the continental and michelin tyre.

After the fitting I had a 200 odd mile round trip to hertfordshire for some work and after 100 miles or so the tyres felt great so on the way back decided I would take every b road possible, blasting down the b roads with the roof off with the sound of the exhaust and engine was just epic. I think I put an extra 60 miles or so on the journey but there was lots of :D:D:D:D at one point I even caught myself laughing like a little girl.

Verdict so far... I like the tyre they are certainly better on road noise than the P Zero, up there with the SC2 I would say, and as you would expect coming from four tyres on the edge grip is better as well.
