Right, here goes. Got my 21st in May and my parents want to buy me a watch. I'll be wearing it 24/7, so don't trust myself with an Omega or such. So at the moment, I'm heavily swayed towards This...

Somebody tell me if I'm not allowed to link to there :)

I've got very skinny wrists, hence me choosing the Titanium, so it's nice and light. And Kinetic to avoid having to ever change the battery :)

Sooo, general opinions? Is it likely to survive permanent wear for many years?

Hmm not a fan personally... Have you looked at Citizens? You should be able to find a nice one for around the same money

PS you can't link to that site ;)

Ive got a Sekio SKA201 and I love it. I wear it 24/7 and its stood up to any potential damage very well.. Personally I don't really like the on you have linked to as I prefer watches with white facias, but the Seiko Kinetic range are very nice watches IMO.

The above is nice, but I was going for something more traditional :) And you can get the one I posted in white, just thought the dark one provided more of a contrast. Glad to hear it stands up to everyday use, most people find me strange for wearing my watch ALL the time, I feel as though something is missing if I don't have it on. Even when my current watch stops, I keep it on my wrist until I can get the battery changed :p

try looking at the SKA365P1, its the one i got, certainly got a more traditional look but you may not have the same taste as me, the rainforst pic of it doesnt do it justice though maybe look on seikos site for a better pic

you cant expect these watches to be light though because of the kinetic mechanism, theyre also quite thick but i have small wrists and the weight never worried me one bit, you get used to it and it feels wierd not having it weighing down your arm after a while

now thats a nice watch think i buy one of them myself

Dunno about titanium being light, my Breitling titanium watches feel like a tonne on my wrists lol:p.

I have a titanium Seiko and it feels the same weight as a steel watch tbh, it also scratches just the same.

I used to have that same watch. I bought it brand new from a (now gone) UK based Ebay power seller brand new for £140 in Feb 2005. So, shop around, you should be able to get it much cheaper. You can also get it without the gold trim, and there's a version with a blue dial.

It's a nice watch. My brother has it now, and wears it often.

I never wear watches. I always end up getting ******, getting into a bit of a messabout/altercation with friends and breaking it or end up smashing it on a wall... :(
