the classic mouse is back and better than before. you all know the intellimouse so i won't waste my breath explaining the history of this pc tech legend. you can still pick up the originals if you want to drop $140 in the american jungle.

i have no more details than what is available from the us microsoft website. no eta, no ean, no confirmed uk price, nothing. but i thought you guys would want to get pre-orders on to avoid disappointment.

i have added £5.00 to what i think the rrp will be in case they come out more expensive when they finally land in the uk. i will match whatever the price is on the microsoft uk website should they be made publicly available and we can secure stock. any pre-orders will be honoured at the lower price, mine or the rrp.

as more info comes out i will update here. apologies for the potato pictures. there isn't much better available with a white background.

I might have to buy a few so I never have to struggle buying a mouse again. I miss my old one, but it got the double click curse :(

One I bought in 2007 from Overclockers was £32.89 after shipping and VAT, back before the free shipping days :(

So it's not THAT bad.

I've still got an Intellimouse 3.0 going strong as my go-to for older systems, mainly Amigas for some reason (Cocolino adaptor into the green ps/2 to USB adapter you got with them to the IM3.0) but it works fine, with the supplied software acn even use the extra buttons...

I'm excited about this as I used to swear by the original back in the day, but at £45 it's just too expensive. £25-30 max and I would snap one up in a heartbeat.

It's advertised as $40 on the Microsoft website.

Lol. it's kinda bizarre to see people moaning about the price of a peripheral in 2017 because a predecessor from a decade ago cost like £20 less, shockingly high end mechanical keyboards don't cost £50 anymore either XD

Not a chance unless you found them used or old stock in a firesale, they were made for MS by Steelseries.

Not the IMO but I picked up a load of the WMO 1.1a for £9 each from a company that had stock sitting around from years back and the last of the stock for £13.50 from a well known retailer.

Sadly can't remember the prices on the IMO - think I got one back in the day for £19.99 though definitely wasn't more than that - wasn't really a fan though.

Are you sure? Not heard that before

Why is it bizarre? The Intellimouse was originally just a high quality "normal" mouse and sold for "normal" prices. It's only when gamers started picking them up that the price suddenly escalated, and then later got a limited re-release at silly prices due to "being back by popular demand" etc.

Everything I've listed recently the RRP has matched the dollar price in GBP. As I said in the OP I've added £5 to this in case the exchange rate worsens between now and then but I will service all pre-orders at the UK RRP or my price, whichever is lower.

Everyone posting about the price difference between 10 years ago and should consider the changes in exchange rates and also inflation. 10 years ago at today's exchange rate the mouse would have cost you 67% more.

Inflation from 10 years ago to now would have added a further 25% averaged at 2.5% a year (this month it is over 3%).

If we say the original cost ten years ago was £20 then today's price should be £41.75, so the £39.99 price is actually less expensive than the £20 mouse you bought 10 years ago. Read first post if you want to know why I have listed for now at £45.
