Hi,

This is my first post on Overclockers. I'm rocking an old amd 3600x nvidia 2700s system and I'm now looking to build an new PC duee to the windows 10/11 deadline.
Whilst I'm not looking for too specific advice, I'm more tha a little behind the curve.
I'm looking to build a system around a 9800x3d and 9700x with a Noctua air cooler.
I've liked using ASRock Mboards. no problems and have found the to good so far.
I'm open to suggestion for the pc case ( good airflow ) power supply and memory and motherboard.
I've got a good idea of what I want, but would be open to advice. I'm looking for the best boom for buck.
Nothing is set in stone yet other than the cpu and gpu and would ne grateful for you suggestions.
P.S motherboard wise not too worried about the latest version of usb of pci.

Hello.

If you look in one of the stickies at the top of the forum category “New to Pc gaming and upgrade advice”, there is a post with a suggested template for asking for spec advice. I think the main gaps in what you’ve told us are budget, timeframe, usage and any specific requirements. If you can provide that info, then someone will be able to provide some more accurate advice.

You don't need a new PC for that, your PC is compatible with Windows 11 (subject to GPT formatting, TPM/secure boot enablement).

I'd look at any B850 motherboard, especially since you don't care about USB4. B650E/X670E is an option if a good price, but I'd avoid B650 at this point (no PCIE 5.0 graphics).

Case: Lian Li 216 has nice airflow and compatibility with a reasonable price.

Memory: any 6000 / C30 (doesn't have to be exactly C30) kit with EXPO, unless you see a great deal on something else.

PSU: gold efficiency rated (or platinum) with a 10 year warranty is a good starting point. You can find detailed reviews on hwbusters. There's a PSU tier list for reference by SPL.

Also forgot to say hello to everybody.
